Steeper lysine price cuts in China fail to stimulate demand

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending January 15.

Producers gave deeper discounts in a bid to stimulate demand but buying interest remained weak.

Imported 98.5-percent lysine transacted prices were at RMB10.50-10.75/kg.

Even if producers slash prices further, sales are unlikely to increase significantly as livestock and feed producers are wary of the severe disease situation in the country.
